Trust in the LORD with all your heart

How can our patience be strengthened?

Human patience is developed through hardships.

"We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials for we know that they are good for us they help us learn to be patient." Romans 5:3

"For when the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow. So let it grow, and don't try to squirm out of your problems. For when your patience is finally in full bloom, then you will be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete." James 1:3-4

Our patience is related to the quality of our relationship with God.

"Let this encourage God's people to endure patiently every trial and persecution, for they are his saints who remain firm to the end in obedience to his commands and trust in Jesus." Revelation 14:12

God's people are patient with each other.

"Be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love." Ephesians 4:2

Those who are patient inherit what has been promised.

"Then, knowing what lies ahead for you, you won't become bored with being a Christian, nor become spiritually dull and indifferent, but you will be anxious to follow the example of those who receive all that God has promised them because of their strong faith and patience." Hebrews 6:12

Be patient for the coming of the Lord.

"Now as for you, dear brothers who are waiting for the Lord's return, be patient, like a farmer who waits until the autumn for his precious harvest to ripen. Yes, be patient. And take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near." James 5:7-8

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

(Psalm 27:14)

Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm. For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the LORD, They shall inherit the earth.

(Psalm 37:7-9)

Wait on the LORD, And keep His way,  And He shall exalt you to inherit the land;  When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.  (Psalm 37:34)

The eyes of all look expectantly to You, And You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand And satisfy the desire of every living thing. (Psalm 145:15-16)

And it will be said in that day:  “ Behold, this is our God;  We have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the LORD;  We have waited for Him; We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.” (Isaiah 25:9)

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. (Romans 8:24,25)

Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented— of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth. (Hebrews 11:35-38)

And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. --Romans 5:3-4

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. --Galatians 5:22-23
